Shirley Mae Gronquist Bostrom
Shirley Mae Gronquist Bostrom died on Jan. 10, 2011, at the Westport Health Care Center in Richmond, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burdette "Bud" Bostrom, who passed away on Dec. 9, 2010.
Shirley was born April 25, 1926, in Jamestown, N.Y., to parents Edna and Reuben Gronquist.
She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1944, and married Bud in June 1946. She raised four daughters, and was active in Pilgrim Memorial Church, where she served as the church secretary for many years. She was also active in the Nobleton Community church in Nobleton, Fla.
She is survived by daughters: Susan Hayes and husband, Jim of Disputanta, Va., Bonnie Gilbert and husband, Gregg, of Glen Allen, Va., Janet Bostrom and husband, Tom Hewett of Scotts Valley, Calf., and Mary Bostrom of McGaheysville, Va., grandchildren: Leah Gilbert Blackburn, Molly Gilbert Currin, Rachel Ezrati Wilson, Erin Colligan Lee, Joseph Ezrati and Benjamin Colligan; and seven great-grandchildren. She has two surviving siblings: James Gronquist and Carol Gronquist Strong, both of Jamestown.She is preceded in death by sister, Jean Gronquist Wells; and brother, Gary Gronquist.
A memorial service will be held in Jamestown at a later date.
